If you are considering entering the Montane® Spine® Race or Montane® Spine® Challenger, our Official Training Programme provides an excellent setting to learn new skills, meet other competitors and gain insights in to the challenges. Throughout 2016 we have a number of training events which cover a variety of subjects and our annual training weekend.
The Montane® Spine® Challenger is a non-stop, 108 mile race between Edale and Hardraw* with a time limit of 60hrs. This challenging and technical section of the Pennine Way is a physically and psychologically demanding route that demands concentration, good physical fitness, resolve and respect. The Montane® Spine® Challenger is a notoriously difficult event in its own right and should be considered as having a similar degree of difficulty as the longer Montane® Spine® Race.
The MONTANE® Spine® Race is widely regarded as one of the world’s toughest endurance races. A truly epic challenge that will test your physical resilience and mental fortitude. The MONTANE® Spine® Flare is a 60hr race from Edale to Hardraw, a magnificent route covering the Southern part of the Pennine Way with highlights including Kinder Scout, Malham Cove & Pen-y-Ghent. At 108 miles this event is not easy, be prepared for a physically demanding challenge with beautiful scenery and great camaraderie.
