A word from our Event Safety and Training Coordinator, Stu Westfield:

“The Spine and Spine Challenger are more than just an ultras, they are expedition races which require good preparation both mental and physical which helps build a capable skill set. More importantly confidence when out on the hill.”

Stu Westfield, Event Safety & Training Coordinator

Participants, from the front runner to to the lanterne rouge, will all encounter environmental, attrition and time challenges.

Unfortunately, many racers do not complete the MONTANE® Spine® /Challenger because of incomplete preparation. In short: not knowing what they needed to know.

Our MONTANE® Spine® Training will guide you through the process of identifying training needs, developing skills and building a race strategy which suits you.

Of course, we cannot guarantee that you will finish and gain the much sought after Spine medal, along with our hearty congratulations.

But what we do promise is that with the knowledge, mentoring and experience shared by members of the MONTANE® Spine® Team, you will race further, with greater efficiency and confidence.

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring with you all of the items found on the mandatory Equipment List as this is a perfect opportunity to use the equipment and get a feel for the pack. In addition to this list you may wish to bring a tent instead of, or in addition to, a bivvi bag.

If you have a Spine Account this can be booked directly through the training page in the member area.

If you do not have an active Spine Account and would like to declare your interest or book our training weekend please use the form below.
